Three Days Online Workshop On Research Methodology
Research Development Board, NBGSM College, Sohna had organized a “Three Days Online Workshop on Research Methodology” for faculty members, research scholars and post graduate students from 08th – 10th March, 2021 on Google Meet platform. The major focus of the workshop was to make the participants aware of the techniques of data analysis, how to plan, collect and manage the data for a meaningful research outcome.
The Resource persons for the session were Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Popli, Director, Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research, and Dr. Simran Kaur, Assistant Professor, Delhi School of Professional Studies and Research.
First day, the session began with a welcome address by Sh. Ravinder Singh Manhas, President – Governing Body. In the first day, session of the workshop was deliberated by Prof. G.S.Popli on Introduction of Research, basic aspects of research, types of research on the basis of various parameters, research design, importance of research. In continuation of the session next lecture was given by Dr. Simran Kaur on research objective and plagiarism. She also explained the way of managing ethics in dissertation. A case study was given to the participants as assignment.
In the second day, Prof. G.S.Popli explained the importance of two key concepts such as research and methodology to enable participants to understand the basics of any research. Dr. Simran Kaur discussed qualitative and quantitative research, mixed method research, identification of research problem.
The session of third day was addressed by Dr. Simran Kaur in which she explained about literature review and Mendeley reference manager software. She clearly conveyed to the participants how to write the format that must be followed in citing a book, journals, research paper, article, case studies, single to many others to APA style. Towards the end Dr. Simran Kaur also addressed the queries made by the participants. All sessions were very informative for Participants and their feedbacks were collected online. End of the session Dr. D.P.Singh, convener, Research Development Board, NBGSM College, deliberate a brief outline of the sessions of the workshop. The workshop was concluded with a Vote of thanks proposed by Shri. Ravinder Singh Manhas, President- Governing body. There were 175 participants, who have attended this workshop. The program was concluded with happy note from everyone.
