Online Extension Lecture on ‘Research Methods for Beginners’
The Department of Commerce, N.B.G.S.M. College, Sohna organized an Online Extension Lecture on ‘Research Methods for Beginners’ on 21st January 2022. The students of BBA and post-graduation along with the faculty members attended the session.
Dr. Jasvinder Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari presided over as the guest speaker. He is one of the most respected and renowned figures in the field of education and research. He has an experience of about 15 years in teaching, research learning and development, financial operations and technical management. He has also successfully supervised more than 30 students in project reports.
The extension lecture started with the welcome address by Dr. M.S. Khatri, Principal, N.B.G.S.M. College, Sohna. In the introduction, Dr. Jasvinder Singh briefly described about the basics of research, i.e., research fundamentals, vision, mission, objectives, constructs and variables. Dr. Jasvinder Singh delved deep into the topics of research theories wherein he discussed about the different types of theories like deductive, inductive, grounded and axiomatic. He also elaborated about the: –
- Research propositions, hypothesis, research models, research problems, research objectives and research questions.
- Statistical tools, research questionnaires, research findings and data collection.
- Literature review, research methodology and research design.
In the end, Dr. Jasvinder Singh answered to the queries of the students. He also shared the online assignment to evaluate the knowledge of the students. The session ended with a vote of thanks presented by Ms. Neha Gupta, Department of Commerce.
Overall, the lecture was very informative.
