One Day University Level Disaster Management Workshop
A workshop on “Disaster Management” was organized by University Youth Red Cross (YRC), M.D. University, Rohtak on 21st March 2018 at R.K. Auditorium, MDU, Rohtak. In this workshop, Principals, YRC Counselors and volunteers of UTD and affiliated colleges with M.D. University were invited. From our college YRC counselor, Ms. Neha Gupta (Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce) along with five volunteers Sakshi, Komal, Mamta and Preeti B.Com 2nd year and Karnima B.A Ist Year participated.
The chief guest in this event was Prof. Bijender Kumar Punia (Vice-Chancellor of M.D.U. Rohtak). Shri Niwas, Assistant Commandant, 8th BN NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), Ghaziabad was also invited with his team members for this workshop. Mr. Niwas gave a presentation on “Role and Capabilities of NDRF” and his accompanying team from NDRF gave a demonstration on the rescue operations. This was followed by a presentation on “Psychological Support during Disasters” by Dr. Roshan Lal, Department of Psychology, Punjab University, Chandigarh. In the afternoon session, Sh. Lakshman Singh gave a presentation and live demo on “Awareness Training of Nuclear, Height and Flood”. Each Session was very interactive and knowledgeable for all.
