Debate Competition

 N.B.G.S.M. College has set the benchmark for conducting activities in the wake of the overall development of the students. In this context, a debate competition was organised by the Department of Commerce on 05/02/2021. The organising committee consisted of Ms Ruchika Aggarwal and Dr. Sapna Agarwal. Dr Manoj  Kumar stood the head of the jury. Two motions were set for debate.  The first was “New Education Policy-A Hit or Miss?” and the second motion was “E-learning vs. classroom learning”. Students (16) participated  with great zeal and put their tremendous efforts to showcase their hidden talent. Some argued for the motion while some were against the motion. Participants were equipped with statistics and made their argument more apparent and remarkable with the right facial expressions, real-life examples, and gestures. All the participants exhibited the best of themselves. After going through the competition three students were awarded for favouring the motion while the  three were awarded for opposing the motion.  The students who nabbed the top three positions for favouring the topic are 1^st – Tamanna  ( M.Com. previous), 2nd-Priya ( B.Com. H.1^st year), 3^rd– Barkat Ali( M.Com. final year) and Dharamwati ( B.Com. H. 1^st year) and the students who grabbed the top three positions for opposing the topic are 1^st– Shiwani Bansal( B.Com.H. 3^rd year), 2^nd– Pragti Khurana ( M.Com. previous),3^rd–  Renubala  ( M.Com. final). All the participants were given prizes as well as certificates. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Sapna Agarwal. The competition was an enthralling   for the speakers as well as the audience. The day concluded on a joyful note.
