Extension Lecture on Vaidik Empowered Women V/s 21st Century Empowered Women
The Women Cell, N.B.G.S.M. College, Sohna in collaboration with the Department of Sanskrit organized an Extension Lecture on the topic- Vaidik Empowered Women V/s 21st Century Empowered Women on 28th June, 2021 through Google Meet. Dr. Prerna Arya, Teacher of Indian Culture, Consulate General of India, Chicago was the speaker for the session. The session started with the inaugural address by Mrs. Prerna Sharma, Vice-Principal. The chief speaker highlighted the difference between the condition of women in Vaidik as well as contemporary period. She also emphasized that society should not only try to compete for the status of women rather equal opportunities should be provided for them. She discussed about the struggle of women from quoting examples from the Vedic literature and moreover illustrated that how women in modern age are still fighting for their rights. More than 88 students attended the session. In the end, students also asked various questions which were positively answered by the chief speaker. Overall, the session was very thought provoking and informative. Dr. D.P. Singh, Convener of the event presented the Vote of Thanks.
