Cervical Cancer Awareness Programme
On 8th March 2018, Red Ribbon Club and Women Cell celebrated International Women’s Day by organizing a “Cervical Cancer Awareness Programme” in collaboration with CAPED (Cancer Awareness, Prevention and Early Detection) for all girl students in New Campus, NBGSM College.
The event began by welcoming Ms. Mridu Gupta (Chief Operations Officer, CAPED) by Dr. M.S. Khatri (Principal) with a bouquet of flowers followed by the introduction of CAPED by Ms. Madhu Yadav (Team member, CAPED) who also briefed the students about the significance of Cervical Cancer awareness. Ms. Mridu Gupta further elaborated the topic and discussed how to prevent this by understanding the symptoms of Cervical Cancer, various risk factors, early detection, diagnosis and treatment options available. She further highlighted the need of healthy diet and regular exercise to prevent this disease and attended the queries of students.
About 120 girl students and staff attended this programme and were thankful to Red Ribbon Club and Women Cell for organizing such awareness programme. The event concluded through a vote of thanks by Ms. Neha Gupta (Incharge, Red Ribbon Club) and motivated students to create awareness about Cervical Cancer as much as they can in the society.
