Interview Skills & Social Entrepreneurship

On 2nd February 2018 NBGSM college organized the special session on Interview skills and Entrepreneurship skills for the final year students. The aim of this program is to provide knowledge about the interview skills and develop entrepreneurship skills in the students.

Rev. R.S Manhas ji, Executive president of the college and Rev. O.P Kalra ji, Incharge SFS, grace the program with their presence. The session was conducted by Rev. Raman Manhas ji (Administrator, Sant Nirankari Public School and Educationalist) and Rev. Nilanjana Das ji, (Founder & Director, Action Centre for Transformation)

Mrs. Raman Manhas enlightened the students on Interview skills. She started her session by helping out student to focus on their aim of life by asking questions about their aim and she also told them which methodology they can adopt to accomplish their aim. She highlighted the eight aspects of interview skills i.e. SWOT analysis, Resume Impressions, Planning & Preparation, before the Interview, Interview impressions,  Interview Etiquettes, Post Interview and FAQs. She helped out students how they can find their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats by discussing some questions with them. She emphasized on a phrase i.e. ‘Resume is a Brand’ so it should be Unique and personalized. She also gave tips on interview etiquettes. She concluded her session by providing grooming tips to students and by answering the questions of the students.

Interview skills initiated this session’s gearing and preparation of students for job market. It set the ball rolling and now the detailed process & implementation will be carried out as per the prepared schedule.

Ms. Nilanjana Das focused on the Social Entrepreneurship and discussed about Action Centre Transformation (ACT) Journey. She started her session by sharing her journey of entrepreneur and shared the documentary of ACT. She told student that how ACT help unprivileged women to become an entrepreneur by enhancing their skills. She also talked about the element that need for entrepreneurship i.e. skills, knowledge and faith with the real life examples. In the end she concluded her session by discussing the qualities of an entrepreneur i.e. communication skills, interaction, and leadership skills.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks given by Dr. O.P. Kalra, Incharge SFS of NBGSM College saying the sessions were very interactive and learning experience for everyone.
