Department of Science Celebrates its 2nd Foundation Day
Department of Science, NBGSM College, Sohna celebrated its second Foundation Day on 04th September 2017. The event was presided over by Rev. R. S. Manhas (Executive President, NBGSM College). In his address, he remembered the vision carried by His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh ji Maharaj in establishing the department of science for the development of this region, in particular, Sohna. Since its inception in 04th September 2015, department of science persistently seeks and adopts innovative approaches to enhance the quality of education on a regular basis.
On this occasion students of department of science participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. In the beginning, a video documentary on the “Contribution made by Galileo Galilei in the field of Science” was shown. This was followed by a “Quiz Competition” and fun activities such as “Scibola” and “Treasure Hunt”. The students from all the classes of B.Sc. participated in these activities and learned science through fun.
In Quiz Competition, team Alpha viz. Aakash, Sachin and Divya from B.Sc. 3rd year got the first position followed by team Sigma viz. Gaurav, Nikhil and Nitin from B.Sc. 1st year who got the second position. Bharti from B.Sc. 2nd year was the winner in the activity “Scibola” and team B viz. Shaily, Kajal, Roshni, Vineeta, Diksha and Sakshi from B.Sc. 1st year were the winners of “Treasure Hunt”.
The event concludes with the inspiring words by Dr. Amit Kumar in which he motivated the students in attaining their academic goals by persistent effort and hard work.
